This course is for you if you are in any way likely to come into contact with asbestos and speak Romanian as your 1st language.

Asbestos is a group of fibrous minerals known for its heat resistance and versatility, commonly used in construction and building materials. Exposure to asbestos can cause several health conditions, especially lung diseases.

Under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, training is mandatory for anyone liable to be exposed to asbestos fibres at work. This Asbestos Awareness course is for people who may work in buildings where asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) may be present.

On completion of this course, learners will understand:

  •  The properties of asbestos and its effects on their health.
  •  The different types, uses and likely locations of asbestos.
  • The proper protocol to follow in an emergency.
  • How to avoid the risks from asbestos.
  • How to identify asbestos and anticipate where it might be found.
  • How to be better equipped when understanding what precautions to take to avoid exposure.

As an employer, you must ensure that all employees are informed, trained and competent. For employees who speak English as their 2nd language, you must ensure they are confident and have fully understood the training provided.

Because of this, we have created the option of Romanian voice-overs to accompany this course. Learners will be able to follow the English course whilst listening to the Romanian translation, assisting with comprehension and compliance.

  • Anyone who will or might come into contact with asbestos and speaks Romanian as a 1st language.
  • 20-30 minutes to complete, with multiple-choice questions.
  • On successful completion of this course, learners will gain a qualification and receive an IOSH-accredited certificate acknowledging their course of study, which can be used to provide evidence for compliance and audit.
