COSHH AWARENESS eLEARNING

This course is for you if you work closely with hazardous substances, or are in any way likely to come into contact with hazardous substances at work.

Every year, thousands of workers become ill after working closely with hazardous substances in their varied forms, such as chemicals, fumes, dusts, vapours, gases, mists. These substances can cause serious lung or skin diseases, and even cancers.

According to the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002, it is the employer’s duty to protect workers from the serious health risk of exposure to hazardous substances. This COSHH Awareness course will teach workers how to identify and control hazardous substances, as well as an understanding of the risks so they are able to work with them safely.

On completion of this course, learners will understand:

  • What is COSHH?
  • How to reduce the risks of exposure to hazardous substances.
  • How to prevent harmful substances from entering the body.
  • The employer and employee responsibilities.
  • How to identify hazardous substances in their workplace and know the ill effects they can cause.
  • What preventative measures to use to avoid dangerous exposure.
  • Anyone who works with or might come into contact with hazardous substances.
  • 20-30 minutes to complete, with multiple-choice questions.
  • On successful completion of this course, learners will gain a qualification and receive a certificate acknowledging their course of study, which can be used to provide evidence for compliance and audit.
