EQUALITY, DIVERSITY & INCLUSION eLEARNING

This course is for anyone seeking a clear introduction to equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

When issues like discrimination or lack of representation are overlooked, they can have a negative impact on well-being, productivity, and team culture. Equality isn't automatic—assuming everyone is treated equally can blind us to real, everyday inequality. People may feel undervalued, excluded, or unsafe if inclusion isn’t actively promoted.

A lack of awareness about equality, diversity, and inclusion can harm individuals, damage workplace culture, and expose businesses to legal and reputational risks. Under the Equality Act 2010, employers have a duty to prevent discrimination and promote inclusion. Equipping staff with the tools to understand and uphold these values protects both people and the organisation.

This course provides the foundation for building a workplace where everyone feels respected, supported, and empowered.

On completion of this course, learners will understand:

  • How to contribute to a health and safety culture at work.
  • The purpose and importance of equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

  • The Equality Act 2010 and the nine protected characteristics it covers.

  • How to identify and respond to different types of discrimination, including direct, indirect, associative and perceptive.

  • What constitutes harassment and victimisation, and how to challenge or report it.

  • The meaning and value of positive action.

  • How unconscious bias, stereotypes, and affinity bias can influence decision-making.

  • Practical ways to make workplaces more inclusive for people of all identities and backgrounds.

  • Their own responsibilities in fostering an inclusive, respectful and legally compliant environment.

As an employer, you must ensure that all employees are informed, trained and competent. To support all learners, this course includes English voiceovers to enhance accessibility and understanding. Audio narration helps reinforce key concepts and supports individuals with visual impairments or reading difficulties, creating a more inclusive and effective learning experience.

All text in this course is displayed on an off-white background to support visual accessibility and reduce eye strain. This design choice helps make content more comfortable to read for users with dyslexia, visual stress, or sensory sensitivities, ensuring a more inclusive learning experience for all.

  • Anyone who needs an introduction to equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • 20-30 minutes to complete, with multiple-choice questions.
  • On successful completion of this course, learners will gain a qualification and receive a certificate acknowledging their course of study, which can be used to provide evidence for compliance and audit.
