FIRE SAFETY TRAINING

Fire Safety is more than just a 'tick box' exercise.
Fire Safety training is about giving you and your colleagues the confidence to deal with a potential fire situation in a calm and safe manor, as well as providing the knowledge to help prevent these occurring in the first place.

Our training is delivered by operational Fire Fighters with many years experience and includes practical demonstrations with the opportunity for hands on sessions.

FIRE SAFETY AWARENESS

This course is for you if you have the responsibility of a Fire Marshal, or require an introduction to fire safety. 

Most fires can be prevented. The Fire Safety Awareness course will educate those responsible about what simple procedures can be put in place to help reduce the risk of fire, and how to encourage certain safety behaviours in the workplace.

On completion of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Recognise the cost of a fire. 
  • Identify the role of a Fire Warden.
  • Have the confidence to become the liaison with the fire service.
  • Understand what action needs to take place when discovering a fire.
  • Gain knowledge of current Fire Safety Legislation.
  • Understand the triangle of fire.
  • Outline common causes of fire.
  • Demonstrate fire safety precautions and preventions. 
  • Prepare for fire drills and evacuation. 
  • Safely and properly use fire extinguishers.
  • Understand the role and responsibilities of a Fire Marshal.
  • How to use evacuation devices.
  • Fire Marshals and anyone who needs fire safety knowledge or training within their organisation.
  • This is a face-to-face course with a duration of 3 hours.
  • On successful completion of this course, you will gain a qualification and receive a certificate acknowledging your course of study, which can be used to provide evidence for compliance and audit.

IOSH FIRE SAFETY FOR MANAGERS

IOSH Fire Safety For Managers provides managers and supervisors with the knowledge and tools required to tackle fire safety issues in just one day. Students will be given case studies to refer back to and take part in practical exercises to test their knowledge.
This will then lead to the ability to reduce fire risk in your workplace and enhance your reputation with a respected certificate.

On completion of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Explain and understand fully what 'working safely' means.
  • Improve safety performance.
  • Explain the component parts of a recognised safety management system (HSG65).
  • Identify the techniques required to produce an adequate record of an incident and demonstrate the procedure for an accident investigation.
  • Describe statutory requirements for reporting incidents / accidents (RIDDOR).
  • Describe methods of basic trend and analysis for reactive and proactive monitoring.
  • Define ‘hazard’ and ‘risk’, and describe the legal requirements for risk assessment.
  • Demonstrate a practical understanding of a quantitative risk assessment technique and the data required for records.
  • Describe workplace risk control hierarchies.
  • Prepare and use active monitoring checklists and implement schedules for active monitoring, recording results and analysing records.
  • Outline the main requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
  • Outline relevant health and safety legislation, codes of practice, guidance notes and information sources such as the Health and Safety Executive.
  • This qualification is to provide Managers and Senior Management with practical knowledge of Fire Safety.
  • This is a face-to-face course with a duration of 2 days, plus a workplace project. 
  • This is an internationally recognised certification for Managers. On successful completion of this course, you will gain an IOSH qualification. IOSH is the Chartered body and largest membership organisation for health and safety professionals. You will receive a certificate acknowledging your course of study, which can be used to provide evidence for compliance and audit.

IOSH FIRE RISK ASSESSMENTS

This course is for you if you’re a Manager or Supervisor responsible for fire safety and fire risk assessments. 

The IOSH Fire Risk Assessment course provides and develops the knowledge and skills for Managers and Supervisors of their duties under the Regulatory Reform Order Fire.
The course should enable students to identify “fit for purpose” Fire Risk Assessments and carry out basic low-risk Fire Risk Assessments.

On completion of this course, learners will be able to:

  • This is a face-to-face 2 day course.
