A lack of health and safety awareness will put you at risk and your well-being in danger! If you complete this induction before stepping on-site it will allow you to start work immediately, avoiding lengthy delays and induction days.

 

It is a legal requirement to be equipped with the correct training under the Health and Safety at Work Act of 1974. This Health and Safety Induction course explores many hazards you may face on-site and provides in-depth training in how to identify, reduce or remove the risks involved within the construction and trade industry. This Induction also covers policies and precautions that are specific to McConnell. 

On completion of this course, learners will understand:

  • How to contribute to a health and safety culture at work.
  • How to identify common workplace hazards and risks.
  • How to complete Risk Assessment Method Statements.
  • The employer's responsibilities for health and safety.
  • When and where their health and safety might be most at risk.
  • How to identify Safety Symbols.
  • The principles of fire and how to reduce the risk of fire.
  • The types of fire extnguishers and fire safety equipment. 
  • How to minimise health and safety risks.
  • Their responsibilities when it comes to health and safety.
  • What to do in an emergency.
  •  McConnell-specific policies and precautions for working on one of their construction sites. You must complete this training before stepping on-site.
