This course is for you if you may be exposed to significant levels of vibration and speak Romanian as your 1st language. Also, Managers with specific H&S responsibilities and Supervisors who are required to reinforce control measures.

The use of power tools and machinery can expose workers to high levels of vibration, which can cause permanent and severe damage. Excessive vibration is known to cause hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS), commonly known as “white finger”. An estimated 5 million people are exposed to HAVS at work, and nearly half of them are exposed to levels high enough to develop the disease.

The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005 requires employers to assess and identify measures to eliminate or reduce risks from exposure to hand-arm vibration, so they can protect their employees from risks to their health.

On completion of this course, learners will understand:

  • How vibration will affect them.
  • How to controlling vibration at work.
  • The employer and employee legal responsibilities.
  • Health surveillance.
  • How to stay below specific exposure limits and the required measures to reduce exposure when necessary.
  • How to identify symptoms of HAVS before they become permanent.

As an employer, you must ensure that all employees are informed, trained and competent. For employees who speak English as their 2nd language, you must ensure they are confident and have fully understood the training provided.

Because of this, we have created the option of Romanian voice-overs to accompany this course. Learners will be able to follow the English course whilst listening to the Romanian translation, assisting with comprehension and compliance.

  • Anyone using vibration producing equipment and speaks Romanian as a 1st language.
  • 20-30 minutes to complete, with multiple-choice questions.
  • On successful completion of this course, learners will gain a IOSH-accredited qualification and receive a certificate acknowledging their course of study, which can be used to provide evidence for compliance and audit.
